In the implementation of a circuit from an electrically noisy AC/DC to logic interface system, it is often desirable to establish some voltage or current threshold detection points to switch between logic levels across a safety isolation barrier. The isolated voltage detector/current detector were designed for such applications including AC mains voltage detection and DC link voltage detection. Benefits of using these optocouplers are the low threshold current that reduces power dissipation and the built-in hysteresis circuit that reduces external components and cost.
